Overview

As a Logistics and Shipping Coordinator, your role is pivotal in managing various aspects of the logistics processes for a distribution center, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery of goods. You're responsible for completion of critical functions such as shipping coordination, load building, carrier communication with a focus on maintaining our ERP system accurately.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate and schedule shipments to ensure timely delivery of materials, parts, and products.
  • Work closely with internal teams and suppliers to organize transportation routes and timing.
  • Track incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Review transactions for accuracy.
  • Assist in handling and resolving freight claims.
  • Communicate with carriers to confirm pickup times and shipping details.
  • Assist in preparing shipments and manage returns when necessary.
  • Maintain clear and organized records of all logistics, shipping, and inventory activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with team to resolve logistics and inventory related issues.
  • Coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time pickup and delivery, estimate times of arrival and delivery and recovering loads when necessary.
  • Track loads to ensure on-time delivery and proactively communicate potential delivery delays to team members and customers.
  • Communicate and escalate issues as they arise.
  • Respond to team needs by answering e-mails, phone calls and attending meetings.
  • Represent the company in a courteous, professional manner at all times.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in Logistics, or Shipping & Receiving, Warehouse management or related field.
  • Knowledge of open trailer and over the road freight.
  • Geographic understanding of continental U.S.
  • SAP or other ERP/Inventory Management Software experience is required.
  • Proficient in FEDEx, UPS, and other trucking company websites/portals for entering shipments.
  • Ability to manage inbound and outbound logistics processes, ensuring accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams out of multiple locations.

 

Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal) with all stakeholders in supply chain.
  • Proficient in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, proactive problem solving.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment/assignments.
  • Ability to work with a team and independently when required.
  • Ability to read, write and do high school level math.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years relevant experience.
