Overview

Metalcraft of Mayville is seeking a Painter / Powder Coat Painter to join our manufacturing team. No previous powder coating experience? We’re willing to train the right candidate!

Reporting to the Paint Supervisor, the Painter is responsible for applying powder coating to fabricated metal parts while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. This is a great opportunity for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and interested in learning a skilled trade.

Responsibilities

  • Apply powder coating to fabricated metal parts using manual powder spray equipment.

  • Prepare and operate powder coating equipment according to production requirements.

  • Perform color changes and basic equipment setup between jobs.

  • Inspect painted parts to ensure proper coverage, finish, and overall quality.

  • Identify paint defects and make adjustments or notify the appropriate team member when needed.

  • Learn and develop skills throughout the powder coating and paint process.

  • Help maintain an efficient paint process while meeting production and quality expectations.

  • Keep the work area, equipment, and surrounding areas clean and organized.

  • Work closely with team members and other departments to keep production moving efficiently.

  • Assist with other production operations within the department as needed.

  • Follow all company and plant safety procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous painting, powder coating, or manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required — we are willing to train!

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

  • Willingness to learn powder coating techniques and develop new skills.

  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work efficiently in a production environment.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Ability to stay organized and maintain a clean work area.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing production needs.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred

Job Expectations

You don't need years of painting experience to get started. If you're mechanically inclined, take pride in your work, and are willing to learn, we'll provide the training you need to develop your powder coating skills.
