Reporting to the Robotic Welding Manager, the Robotic Welder is responsible for operating robotic welding equipment to fabricate metal parts and assemblies according to specifications. This position performs robotic welding operations, basic MIG welding, quality inspections, equipment adjustments, and other production-related duties.

 

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and make adjustments to robotic welding equipment.

  • Load and unload parts and fixtures manually or with the use of hoists.

  • Perform robotic welder functions including programming, touch point adjustments, and operational corrections.

  • Set welding parameters including wire feed speed, amperage, polarity, gas type, and other machine settings.

  • Perform basic MIG welding as needed.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, quality plans, job specifications, and work instructions.

  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications.

  • Use gauges and other measuring tools to verify finished products.

  • Clamp, tack-weld, grind, and prepare components as required.

  • Remove excess weld, slag, spatter, and rough areas using grinders and other tools.

  • Maintain accurate production counts and properly label completed parts.

  • Meet company standards for safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Assist at other workstations as production needs require.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Previous welding experience preferred; candidates with basic foundational welding skills and the ability to learn are encouraged to apply.

  • Ability to successfully complete Metalcraft's internal welding test.

  • Basic knowledge of welding fixtures and setup parameters preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to use or learn precision measuring tools.

  • Basic shop math skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks.

  • Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to learn.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
